Lone Oak Montessori School is pleased to offer the community a morning class for children between 2 and 3 years of age! The class of 12 children runs daily from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with 2, 3, and 5-day options, and is located at our Democracy campus.

The Montessori approach to the child under age 3 bears resemblance to that of the 3 - 6 year old, in that the philosophy of "Help me to help myself" is key. This is accomplished through many practical life exercises, such as dish washing, plant watering and dressing frames. Daily preparation of a group snack/lunch is a social activity which involves food preparation, cooperation and courtesy. Language picture cards and other language activities help build vocabulary and grammar. Music, rhythm and movement exercises are part of the ongoing joy of this first school experience, one which lays a confident foundation for future years in the classroom.
